Kaskaskia Valley "Valley of the Illinois Amish" From the valley of the Amish, located in the heartland of Illinois, where you can still hear the rhythmic beat of horse hooves on the pavement, smell freshly cut hay being windrowed for the horse drawn baler, and relish the time where neighbor still knows his neighbor and takes time to visit, we offer a large selection of Amish Jam, Jelly, Fruit Butter and Mustard Sauce. All Kaskaskia Valley Products are homemade by the Illinois Amish, known and respected for their excellence. The Illinois Amish still make the jam, jelly, fruit butter and mustard the old- fashioned way - in small batches. This allows the quality and taste to be in every jar - a slow process by today's standard, but a process that allows you to realize that the product is as good or better than what grandma made. "YAEGER'S DISTRIBUTING COMPANY" Yaeger's Distributing company is owned and operated by David Yaeger with his brother Tom, sister-in-law Eleanor and niece Mary. David Yaeger - President. David was raised on a farm outside the town of Cortland, Illinois. He received a B.S. degree at the University of Illinois in Agricultural Economics. David has farmed for 33 years on the home place and operated a farm stand and greenhouse at the farm for as many years. He started Yaeger's Distributing Company in April of 1979 to distribute greenhouse supplies. Other products have been added as the years have gone by. Tom Yaeger - Vice President, Sales and Purchasing. Tom was raised on the home farm and after high school went to work in a factory outside of DeKalb. He worked there for 26 years and became a foreman for the company. He then became the salesman for Yaeger's Distributing Company after talking a couple of Amish families into making jams, fruit butters and mustards to sell at our farm stand. Besides selling, he is keeping his eyes open for new products that are complimentary to the products we are selling now. Mark Yaeger - Secretary. Mark is secretary of the company and has taken over the farming duties which frees up David to do more of the internet jobs. Eleanor Yaeger - Eleanore is the farm stand operator and is reponsible for seeing that operaton runs smoothly. Mary Yaeger - Mark's wife has taken over the responsibility of the filling of internet orders and sees that all order go out in a timely fashion and any customer requests are taken care of. We have sold the Kaskaskia Valley jams, fruit butters and mustards at our farm stand. The comments from our customers about how good they were made us decide to distribute the products to other farm stands near us. Soon we were distributing the products thoughout a four state area. We were getting request to send the products all over the U.S. Since the customers couldn't come to us we begin shipping Kaskaskia Valley products by DHL or the post office to customers in the United States.
